ALHAMBRA THEATRE
Pullers' Vaudeville Company returned again to their popular shrine, the Alhambra Theatre, on Saturday evening, diniini&hed iv statuesque splendour but otherwise versatile and vigorous. As usual on a, Saturday evening the theatre was very largely attended. The new programme for the week found every favour and is quite up to the standard. A new fiistpart setting, representing a ship's deck, with
various nautical appurtenances, proved pretty and effective. The members of the company acquitted themselves to the satisfaction of the audience. Mr Fred Rivenhall, vocal comedian, is a great favourite, and had to draw many times from his extensive repertoire before he waa allowed to depart. The Diamond Duo can be always depended on to give something artistic and pleasing, and sing and dance equally well. 'Iheir banjo song and daiice took exceedingly. Miss Lavmia. Tyson's sympathetic contralto singing, which included so good a song as " The gift," was thoroughly appreciated; while Mr Frank Jiing most adequately catered for those ■who like descriptive songs of the kind one hears at the music hall and nowhere else. The Driscolls manifested their cleverness, and supported one another admirably in quite a number of items, and took time by the forelock by burlesquing the Modern Milo more or less; while Miies Mabel Lynne, Mr Will Stevens, Mr G. Pagd'en, Miss Nellie Power, a/id Misg Kitty Stanley all lent agreeable and material assistance in the programme. The programme concluded, with a humorous pantomimic comedietta entitled " The French Count," the results attending the advertising by the gentleman for a wife exciting great hilarity m. the audience. Mr F. Stokes and his compact orchestra supplied the music.
