CLEARING SALE AT CLINTON.

Messrs Dalgety and Company (Limited) report having held a clearing sale on account of Mr David Murray at Hope Farm, Clinton, on Tuesday, 10th October. Although the day of the sale turned out beautifully fine, ths rain on the previous day and night had been exceptionally heavy, and no doubt accoiuited for the somewhat small attendance. Notwithstanding the fact that bidding was slow, it was soon apparent that nearly all those present had come prepared to buy something, for the whole of the stock and the large collection of implements and sundries sold at really excellent prices. The principal sales were: — 865 crossbred wether hoggets, 17s lid; 97 crossbred ewes, 26s sd ; bay mare, six years £50; bay mare, eight years, £44 10s; bay mare, aged, £35 : chestnut filly, two years, suitable for spring-cart work, £17 10s; and other two-year-old light horses at £13 to £18.
