THE CHRISTCHURCH MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, October 13.
There has been a fair amoixnt of business passing in the local wheat market during the •week, a number of sales having been made at quotations, among which were 2400 busheisef Hunters and Tuscan at 3s, delivered at mill ; 1000 bushels Hunters at 2s lid, at Addingfcon; 3200 bushels of Pearl and Tuscan at ■2s lOd; 1600 bushels of Pearl at 2s 9£d; 450 ■bushels of Tuscan at 2s 9d; 1000 bushels of ' Hunters at 2s 9d; and 1000 bushels of damaged Hunters at 2s 6Jd— all at country stations. There has also been a move in oats during the past few days, and an advance in prices lias resulted in a few lines changing hands. Sales have been made tip to Is lid at country stations for prime miling, but most hoders sire asking 2s even for feed lines. A line of milling Gartons was sold at 2s Id, L.0.b., sacks in — equal to Is lOJd at country station?. - 'Another line of 800 bushels was taken at Is lOd, also at country, station. There has been another sharp rise in potatoes, and up to £9 10s has been paid. Stocks In second hands are now very light. , Butter is lower by Id per lb.
