INTERNATIONAL RFLATIONS. THE MATINS REVELATIONS. LONDON, October 9.
The Matin's revelations that England had verbally promised to aid France with men and ships in the event of Germany attacking h.°r have caused a profound sensation in France, and created a revulsion in M. Delcasse's favour. The Times says that the statement is inopportune, and will probably envenom, passions which ar,e too inflamed already. The English pr€6s does not credit the statement that England voluntarily gave France a verbal assurance of specific action, in the ev.ent of war. PARIS, October 9. Several prominent members of the Opposition and a number of leading Parisian editors were invited to a secret dinner at M. Besaucon's house to meet Baron Rosen (one of the Russian peace plenipotentiaries). Several declined, but others who attended indicated their unwillingness to be placated on Germany's terms. v . BERLIN, October 10. . The German newspapers comment calmly on the Matin's articles, and disbelieve the story regarding British aid offered to France.
