THE OTAGO CLUB. The Otago Golf Club's monthly competition for the St. Andrew's Cross resulted in Messis J. N. Ritchie and W. M. Turnbull tieing for the gold cross, and Mr W. Wyinks winning tho silver cross. In the play off for the gold cross Mr W. M. Turnbull won. The following are a few of the be3t scores handed in: —
The annual competition between the Christchurch Golf Club and the Otago Golf Club fox the Hanmer and Campbell-Hosking shields took place on Thursday over the links at Balma-j-ev.-an, and resulted in the local club winning both shields. The following are the paiticulars of the play for the Campbell-Hosking shield: —
In the foursomes match for tha Hanrner shield, which was played in the afternoon, the result was 3 holes in favour of Otago, the details of which are given below: — G. H. MacEwan and C. Turnbull (Otago) boat ~W. Harman and J. Borthwick (.Clirisichureh), 2 xip. H. D. Stronacli and A. F. Roberts (Otago 1 beat Dr Gosset and C. Treweek (Christchurch), 1 up.
