Notes from Greymonth. (From Our Own Correspondent) GREYMOUTH, October 15.

The Jamieson Reward dredge has been repairing all the week, but should resume operations in a few days. The tribntors of Red Queen mine (Mokihinui) have cleaned up with a return of 740z from 70 tons of stone. | The Waiho Sluicing Company is still engaged making preparations to open up the claim on the south side of the Waiho River. The Pactolus dredges got 2150z 4dwt, whereof 160oz was obtained by No. 2 dredge, which, operating in conjunction with No. 1 dredge on a wide face, worked the rich side of the creek, the lead making the whole of the week and giving promise of another very solid yield this week. The No Town Creek dredges got 40oz. The No. 1 dredge contributed 320z. No material alteration has taken place, though hopes are entertained of a decided improvement at No. 2. The Reeves Proprietary Company obtained 390z Bdwt for two machines, which is a decided improvement. Both dredges worked full time, and there are indications of the wash getting easier. The Callaghans Creek dredge, still off the lead, got ISoz for 130 hours. The leturn of the New Trafalgar dredge is very promising. The dredge struck a better sample of wa3h during the week. October 16. The New Trafalgar dredge, which last week get 320z, has vow crossed the flat in search of leads. The dredgemaster (Mr Cunningham;, in working the machine to the best advantage, adopted the wise policy of finding where the run of gold existed. This has been done, and he will now be able to follow it. It is confidently anticipated that good results are in store for shareholders. The Callaghar.'s Creek dredge is now in a narrow bend, the wash being shallow, whily the dredge is working on a rising reef. She will be .turned rouud shortly to work further up the stream. This dredge, a small and compact one, had remarkable difficulties on account of the narrowness of some of the cliffs that Jiad to be passed through, but, under the able guidance of Mr Clarke, the til edge has got through all her difficulties, and has done remarkably well, while good yields are confidently expected m the future. Ths Nelson Creek dredge last week got about 15oz. On one side of the face the wash is rather shallow. In about four months' time the dredge will have reached the top boundary of the claim. It is then intended to work back 111 order to get to No. 3 tributary, where the dredgemaster (Mr Edmunds) anticipates striking good gold. Tli£ Janiieson's Reward dredge has finished repairing, and resumed operations on Monday. Mr Dalziel has now got tho dredge in first-class order. The Pactohi3 Company's dredges are doing remarkably well. They are working side by sida near where the Janiieson's Reward dredge is working. This company is certain of solid returns for a long time to come. The Yictoiy dTedge is now up for sale. The greater part of the Aldinga dredge machinery has already been dismantled and shipped away. The Totara-Shellback dredge, which suspended operations some months ago, )s still lying idle in <he dam ou Thompson's freeiiolsi. The iLeujje as £et has never tested.
