A BOER CONSPIRACY,
GERMAN SOUTH-WEST AFRICA.
BERLIN, October 4.
The Berlin press gives prominence to a report of a startling conspiracy, organised by the Boer settlers in German SouthWest Africa, to raid the colony, steal all the horses and cattle, and then join the natives in expelling the Germans. Andries De Wet, nephew of General De Wet, was arrested at Windhoek as the ringleader, with a number of suspected persons. A quantity of anus and ammunition was seized.
It is alleged that tne conspirators intended to surprise Windhoek, release tlie Boers imprisoned in the gaols, and afterwards join the Witbois tribesmen on the Bechuanaland frontier. Another party was to go east with the object of persuading the Basutoe to join in the plot. The Boers who were arrested formerly belonged to the National Scouts, and wer-e in the British service.
