THE OAMARU NOMINATIONS.
The North Otago Jockey Club has received -what must be considered splendid nominations for its spring meeting, and it is pleasing to note that no-rse owners haveresponded so well to the club's evident desire to cater as liberally as possible for their wants. During the past couple o£ seasons the club has made great progress, and the nominations recently published by the club strongly suggest that further improvement can be reasonably .expected. This is in a great measure due to the emergy of -the dub's secretary (Mr G. M. Procter), who leaves no stone unturned to secure a. nomination, and by his- unfailing courtesy to the patrons of iiis club meetings has made himself popular amongst visitors to the White City race meetings. The nominations received for the principal event on the p'rogoramnie include; the New Zealand Cup * candidates BuJawayo, Apollodcius, Beau Sexton. Convoy, Ability, and Tirol*. The -same horses, with the addition o? others', are also engaged in the princippJ race to be decided on the second day. whilsfr well-known performers such as Petro^na, 1 Master Alix, Crichton, Brighton, bt.
