(Fe.oi£ Our Ows Corhespondent.) ALEXANDRA, Ootober 6. The weather is very fine, tho glass high, and the rivei steady now at the 4ft 9in mark. The finishing touches are being put on the new elevator for the Alexandra Lead dredge, and it is expected to start dredging alout Monday. The Moa dredge is -working steadily. Messr9 L. Ryan and Co. held a sale of dredge niachineiy and pontoons yesterday. There was a very representative gathering, buyers being present from all parts of the district. Pretty well all the lots sold a I good prices, it being generally admitted as being one of the most successful sales held m the district. The Golden Beach Company expects its naw water power plant to reach Oniakau to-morrow. A good deal of piping is now Oi. tho claim, and the erecting of the new plant ■will be pusJied on as quickly as possible. *
