CYCLE ROAD RACE.

SYDNEY, September 16.

The Goulburn to Sydney road race was won by W. Robinson. The New Zealanders were unplaced. Of the 103 acceptors 87 started, including 12 New Zealanders. The weather was fine and the roads were good. The arrangements for providing refreshments for the competitors were excellent. Large crowds watched the progress of the race at various stages. TEe^ race was won by W. Robinson, of Cooma, who, with 55min start, covered the journey of 131 miles in 6hr 41min actual riding time. He got in front between Mossvale and Picton, and held the lead to the finish. Orr, of Sydney, was second. With 30min Btart, he took 7hr to complete the journey. Hagney, of Sydney, with 35min start, was third. The scratch men • were never dangerous, the long-markers having the race' in hand before the final stages were reached. J. Arnst. of New Zealand, who finished fifteenth, made the fastest time (6hr 35imin), lowering the record for the journey by 31 minutes. None of the other New Zealanders were prominent at the finish.
