THE ADVANTAGE OF GOOD SEED.
Among experienced grain growers it is a well-estybhshed fact ihat the better the quality of the seed employed the better the results as regards yield and quality of the grain are likely to be. This, of course, is only what might have been expected, since among plants, as well as among animals, the tendency is for like to produce like, so that the better the seed from which a crop is grown the better he crop that may be looked for. With the object of comparing the merits of different qualities of grain for seed purposes a number of experiments have been in progress for several years past at the Ontario Agricultural College. In these trials wheat, barley, and oats have been experimented with, and in every case by far the best results have be-en obtained whe,re the best seed grain was employed. The experiments have now been in progress for eight j r ears, and during that time tho average results have worked out as follcAvs : — —Wheat.—
