CLEARING SALE.
Messrs Todd Bros, and Co., Heriot, report having conducted a highly successful sale on account of Mr Alexander Matheson, a,t Crookston, on June 9. As the stock was in grand condition, and the implements and furniture almost new, splendid prices were paid for everything. Some of the draught horses were aged, and dull of sale, but, with this exception, the bidding was spirited : —l 37 crossbred two-tooth ewes brought 24s 9d ; 62 crossbred six-tooth ewes mad© 24s Id; 95 halfbred fat wethers (=mall) realised 19s T>d ; a few oild ewes, 12s; and three Romney rams 2ga each. Six hor&eF sold as follows : —£43, £34, £14, £8 10s. £9 53, and £39; di-y cow, £4 9s. A Farmer's Favourite drill brought £li. Wood's binder £11 10s, dray £9, plough £6 10s, fanners £9, also netting, harness. furni» ture, etc., at very satisfactory prices.
