DUNEDIN D.L.F. LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB.

Dear Dot, — The usual weekly meeting of the D.L.P. Literary and Debating Club was held in the D.L.F. room of the Witness office on Tuesday evening, June 27, when there were present the president (Harry), in the chair, Black Watch, Go Hon, T. D. A., Lenore, C. C. M., Troilus, Hubert, and 46 members. Being an open meeting, the following contributed papers: — Lester, "Kissing" ; Black Watch, "The Maori"; Cornish, "Self-made Men" ; Willow Brook, "With the Volunteers" ; Didn't You Knew, "Quago" ; Bert, "My First Social" ; C. C. M., "Which Qjrl.s Make the Best Wives?" George, "The Battle of Life"; Boby, "Fairy Dot's Flower Garden"; Fra Diavolo, "Some- Favourite Verses of Mine" ; Dado, "Elizabeth Fry"; Go Hon, "A Current Topic"; and Boy, "In Central Otago." The papers were of decided interest, and a very hearty vote of thanks was passed to all who contributed papers, and particularly to our country comrades for their thoughtfulness in forwarding them. — Yours truly THE DUKE'S AMUSER.
