■ The British JNew Zealand Meat and ifroi duce Company (Limited) has received the following cablegram from its London office, | dated London, 13th hist.: — "The mutton marI ket keeps steady, with a good demand. Primei Canterbury wethers and maiden ewes are quoted — light, 4|d ; medium, 4id ; heavy, 4|d. Prime North Island wethers and maiden ewes — light, 4|d; medium, 32d; heavy, 3|d. The lamb market is firm, with a good demand. Prime Canterbury — light, s?d; heavy, s£d'. North Island lamb — light. 5Jd; heavy, s|d. New Zealand beef is firmer, with a better demand, owing to short supplies of other beef.. Prime ox hindquarters weighing 1801b to 2201b, 3Jd; fores, 2id." The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company (Napier) have been advised by cable that the frozen meat quotations are: — Canterbury mutton, 4gd; Napier, Wellington, and i North Island, 3|d. Lamb: Pirst quality, s|d; second, s£d. Beef: Hinds, 31d; fores, 2|d.
