OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION.
A committee meeting held in the registered »)>fice of the Early Settlers' Asociation oni '. Monday was attended by Mr Donald E-eicl (in the chair), Messrs Caider, Duke. Dnthie, Joh:i Reid, Brown, Brebner, Crawley, Ferens. M'lndc'S, Proudfool (treasiuer), Langlanda (secretary), and Dr Will. The .President welcomed Messrs Geo. Brown, Win. Crawley, Adam Brebner, and John M'lndoe, new members. Apologies from Messrs A. Burt, sen., Win. G. Hay, and Dr ,Fulton were received. Mr It. Langlands was reappointed secretary. Votes of thanks were passed to Dr Fulton, for the following framed pictures : — Hon. Jss. Fulton's house at Caversham, built in 1&68 (&till standing and in use), with some membeis of Mr Francis C. Fulton's family in front; another view of same- house 20 years later ; an old slab hut, Laka "Wakatipu; a typical oldtimo residence , and the leather mail bag used at Lee Stream Station from 1853, during occupancy of station. To Mr R. Saudilands, Musse-lbiirgh, for voting papers from tha several polling places in tho province for the election of the last Superintendent of Otaga, June ]8, 1873 — Mr James Macandrew returned against Mr J. L Gillies and John Graham.
It was resolved to congratulate Mr and Mrs William Shand, Keith Hall, Taieri, on having celebrated their silver wedding.
The Secretary reported that at the request of a deputation of ladies, circulars would ba sent to all town and suburban ladies connected with tho association to attend a. meeting of ladies on Wednesday, the 21st inst.
Six new members were enrolled.

A party of flaxcutters strolling along the beach near tho mouth of the river at Scott's Ferry (says the Marton Advocate) picked up a piece of amborgis weighing about 101b last Sunday. It is their intention to try to dispose of it in Wellington at an early date.
