At a meeting of the Westland Prospect- J ing Association on the 6th it was resolved to urge the Government at the forthcoming conference of wardens and minmg inspectors to r>rovide a. substantial annual vote to be administered by the. Mining Board for the purpose of promoting the mining industry of the colony, also to ask for an amendment of the regulations whereby a more secure tenure will he given for water rights for races of over 15 heads when a large capital is invented in mining development; and also to ask the Minister of Mines to tekei up the question of making- the Brunner and Kaitangata funds applicable for the benefit of all miners.
