SEW ZEALAND TROTTING ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held on Wednesday, there being present — Messrs P. Selig (president), C. S. Howell, W. Hayward, J. H. Pollock, C. F. Mark, W. G. Garrard, and T. Marr.
Correspondence was read regarding the case of Otara, late Dolly. — It was decided to write to Mr D. Meredith, the former owner, asking if he was prepared to make a declaration as to the information he had given when selling the mare.
Three applications were received for the position of auditor, Mr C. J. Marshall being appointed.
Correspondence was read regarding the case of Ringer, late Micky. — It was decided to write to the Waiau and Lumsden Racing Clubs, enclosing copies of the letters, and asking the clubs to deal with the matter, as provided by the rules.
The application of D. Meredith for the removal of the disqualification of the horse Next Time was granted, on the recommendation of the Auckland Trotting Club.
A letter was read from the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club explaining the procedure adopted in connection with the disqualification of Norice and Verax for galloping in the Flyers' Handicap at tha club's Easter meeting. The stewards had acted on their* own motion, and as no evidence was taken, it was not considered necessary that the parties shotild be present. — The explanation was accepted. The action of the Auckland Trotting Club in disqualifying Macquarrie for galloping in the Electric Handicap was endorsed. It waf decided that F. H. Bidder should be asked to show cause why he should not be dealt .with under th« rules lor. failing to ac;
quaint the association within the specified time regarding the sale of tne pony Special Light. On the recommendation ol the Auckland Trotting Club the fine imposed on E. Murfltt was remitted. E. White applied for the removal of the .balance of the term of his disqualification for five years, imposed by the Hokitika Trotting Club.— The application, wnich was supported by the club, was granted. H. E. Jacobs's application for the removal of the disqualification for running General II without being registered was granted. It was decided to write to the Taranaki Jockey Club with reference to ths question of the registration of the Tarata Sports Club. The Westland Trotting Club renewed its application for a second totalisator permit for a meeting to be held in October.— The letter was referred to the Trotting Conference. A letter was read from M. Taylor with reference to the handicapping of the pony lira Officer by the handicapper of the Auckland Trotting Club.— lt was decided to refer Mr Taylor to the Auckland Trotting Club. The Secretary reported that tho South Wailarapa Charitable Trotting Club had altered the date of its meeting from June 3 to June 5 without communication with the association.—lt was decided to draw the club's attention to the rule on 'the subject.
Programmes as recommended by the executive were approved, and licenseis as recommended by the Licensing Committee were granted. Certificates were issued to Abbey Bells and Millioen (late Millie) on the recommendation of the Foreign Horse Committee.
