In the course of his remarks at the Empire Day celebrations Mr "W. Bruce (chairman of the Wanganui School Committee) advocated the formation of a library at the District High School, and suggested that application should be made to Mr Carnegie for a grant. Mr Aitken informs a Wanganui paper that about nine months ago the Boys' Sobool Council wrote to Mr Carnegie on the lines suggested by Mr Bruce, but no ret>lv has vet been received
