A shocking burning fatality occurred recently near Maryborough (Victoria), Mrs Ann Smart. 78 years of age, who lived in ar- Kgvptian brick hut. being slowly ' — ' to dentli. The old woman, who was in a feeble state of health, was discovered byher da-ughter-in-law lying dead on her bed, and terribly burned. Her arms and legs were completely burned off the -trunk of the body, which itself was in a dreadful condition. The deceased was addicted to smoking, and it is thought she was femoking, when tha clothes causht fira.
