The Western Star is informed that Mr Allan Carmichael, of Clifden, has definitely decided to staxid for Wallace as an out-and-out Oppositionist. In response to the request of a large number of electors, Mr W. Radcliffe, of Lyttelioji, has consented to become a candidate for the Lyttelton seat in Parliament at the forthcoming election.- It is understood that Mr Radeliffe will stand as a supporter of the Government. Mr Radcliffe has been Mayor of Lyttelton several time 3, and is at present a member of the Borough Council.
