OWAKA. STOCK SALE,

The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association of New Zealand (Limited) report : We held our usual fortnightly stock sale at our yards, Owaka, on Friday laist, May 5, when we yarded 185 head cattle, 15 pigs, and 10 horses. The attendance was good, and bidding fairly animated, especially for fresh steers and dairy cows. Young cattle were not so much in demand. No doubt the near approach of winter weather and the probable shortage cf rough feed had a tendency to depreciate the value of this class. Bullocks, suitable for topping-off on turnips, were well competed for. Dairy cows, close to calving, are wanted in the district, and vendors having this class for sale need have no hesitation in bringing them in to otox next sale on Thursday, the 18th inst., when good values are almost assured. The bulk of our entry of 185 head was cleared at satisfactory prices.
