MELBOURNE, May 4. Hides were in increased supply, and there was brisk demand generally at full later rates. Tallow advanced 5s for all grades. Both shippers and local refiners were operating freely at the following quotations: — Prime mutton, nominal, £24 ; medium, £22 ; prime mixed white colour, £21 15s to £22; good mixed, £20 15s to £21 ; village casks, to £20 ss; tins and oddments, £14 to £19.
