RAILWAY RETURNS. WELLINGTON, May 4.
The following is a statement of the> revenue and expenditure on the New Zealand Government railways for the yearended Mal-ch 31: —
The Bruce. Herald states that Mr John Agnew, Taieri Beach, had the misfortun© to lose a valuable mare in rather "a peculiar manner on Sun-day. He was driving alongthe road near Clinton, when the mar* stepped on the thick rcot of "a whin bush and broke her leg The- mare, which wasvalued at £30, had to be destroyed.
