NIGHT.
The tired Day sleeps ; upon Night's shadow'd breast In dxeamfui slumber now she softly li«s. All sounds are hushed, save tke wind's mystic voice Among the trembling leaves, that gently sights And breathes unto the list'ning soul of Night Some swe.et, mysterious tale of thrilling love. Tho twinkling stars give forth their silvery light, G-leanoing with tender radiance from above; And musing now alone in silent bliss, Within my dreaming mind sweet thoughts of thee Now softly wake-; the memory of thy kiss Thrilling my soul with Love's intensity, And breathing forth the tender, fragrant calm Which Love's sweet peace brings with its heav'nly balm.
