OTAGO LAND BOARD.
An ordinary meeting of the Otago kapd - .Board was held on Wednesday ; present— lns Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr D. Barron), and Messrs W. Dallas, J. Toxigh, and J. M. M'Kenzie. - - M'lntosh applied for & license to occupy that pare of the foreshore in biock 111, Moeraki district, upon which his house and .outbuildings stand. — A miscellaneous license of 5s per annum was granted. The board was requested to declare the license over Run No. 465 forfeited, in accordance with Gazette notice, for non-payment of rent. — Forfeited accordingly. - The beard was requested to authorise the Receiver of Land Revenue to deal with the 1 sum of £24, valuation paid for improvements on section 30, block VII, Woodland district. — The Receiver was authorised to pay to
revenue on account of arrears £8 8s 3d, cost - of re-entry £1 10s, and to pay £11 Is 9d to -STaines Taylor. The Lake County Council forwarded statements of proposed expenditure of " thirds " and "fourths" for period sth October, 1903, -to 2nd January, 1904, and 3rd October to 81st December, 1304. — Approved. /R. applied for a, grazing license over section 11, block XIII, Moeraki district, bush reBerve. — Referred to ranger for report. E. Jopson applied for a lease-in-perpetuity, or to purchase .a corner of land, about four acres, to the west of Stavely's freehold,. Blackstone district.— Referred to ranger for report. J. Jopson applied for a lease-in-perpetuity over swamp lying between Rough Ridge School and Darling's fence, Blackstone district.—Referred to ranger for report. The^ board was requested to authorise the "Receiver of Land Revenue to deal with- the sum of_jE42 15s paid by D. McDonald as valuation for fencing on sections 31 and 37, block IV, Mount Hyde district.— Receiver to pay to M. Graham £42 16s. The Waihemo County Council wrote stating- that P. M-Leod had consented to the road through section 3, block IV, Highlay district, and asking that the land fund accrued from the section be now released and placed to the credit of the county fund.? for expenditure in accordance with allocation in statement approved by the County Council on July 16, 1904.— Approved. Archibald' M'Donald wrote with reference tc sections 2a and 3a, Duncan Settlement. —
, The board considered the application by Robert Ross for an occupation leaso under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act over an area of 20 acres between section 99, block IV, Tuapeka East district, and the river. Dalziell a.nd Haggitt, on behalf of Mrs M. Munro, object to portion of the land referred to being granted.— Granted, subject to survey and to right-of-way into section 99, °*"»s recommended by the committee wliicH visited the district. . Thomas Connolly wrote objecting to me valuation allowed for fencing on sections 47, fclock VH, and 5, block VI, Rock and Pillar district.— The board did not see any reason to alter its previous decision. Ranger O'Neill forwarded valuation of the 50 acres, part of sections 5 and 6, b^ock VII, Benger district, applied for by Macfarlane and Co.— Approved. A. H. Williamson, secretary Public Hall Committee, Heriot, forwarded copy of agreement between Mrs Kydd and the Hall Committee with regard to improvements on the -site of the proposed public hall.— Received. The following application for leave to transfer was approved:— L.l.P. 692, section 37, block VII, Rock and Pillar district; L.I.P. 893, section 5, block VIII, Rock and Pillar district; and miscellaneous license 1626, part section 38, block VII, Eock and Pillar district, David Teviotdale to Alexandra Trotter; and the application, O.L. 74, John Christian to Eliza M. Christian, section 125, block IX, Maruwherua district, was declined. An application to surrender occupation lease was received from O.L. 238, John Henry Xeddell, 25 acres of unsurveye<l land, Leaning Rock district.— The applicant to be allowed to withdrawn application for the An application from Annie E. Collis for leave to transfer allotment ISa, Windsor Park Settlement, to James Bell, was referred to the ranger for report.
