WAIKAWA VALLEY.
May 5. — The weather has been very unfavourable right up to date for those whose .crops of oats, etc., were on the late side, and there still remains some stooks in one or two paddocks. Even should the weather keep dry, these will not make even passable feed. However, there has been little or no frost to interfere with the growth of grass.
Burglary. — I am informed that Mr Jas. Robson's store, which is attached to his dwelling, was broken into by some person or perhaps persons, on Friday night last during the absence of the whole family at a social tendered to Mr Lopdell. home missionary for the district. Entry had been made by one of the windows. The till had been broken open, and all the cash abstracted, and the contents of the shop were considerably knocked about. Mr Robson could not at the time say definitely what had been taken bey<nd the contents of the till. I believe the police are investigating the matter.
