LOOK ALOFT.
By Asrah.
Melbourne : W. H. Terry.
The title of this little volume seems to us unfortunate, as nerhaps overweighting it somewhat, andf moreover, carrying a suggestion of the tract or religious j pamphlet. Readers adventurous enough j to spend the modest? necessary coin, however, will find that it is merely an unpretentious story of some pleasant, everyday people whose courtship, marriage, joys, and sorrows are natural enough to appeal to the experience of most of us. The ' scene of the story is laid in Victoria, and the personages are such as we can all find counterparts of among our acquaintances. There is a sustained and sincere attempt throughout the whole book to draw from joy and sorrow alike the moral that in all life's happenings it is safest to "Look | Aloft" for light and comfort. *
