EMMELINE'S - - " COSY CORNER CLUB."

SIXTH SESSION OPENS MAY 10.

RULES

1. Meets on the second Wednesday of each month.

2. Contributions to be in 14 days earlier.

3. All leaders of Witness Ladies' Page eligible as members by strictly conforming to rules.

4. Contributions not to exceed 300 words. Must be legibly written in ink on one side of the paper only, — And Must Be Accompanied by Real Name

and Address —

not for publication, but as an evidence of good faith — as well as by norn de plume. 5. The subjects for the following two months will be given at each meeting in order to allow members at a distance to send in their papers in plenty of time, as no extension of dates can be given. 6. Members specially anxious to discuss any topic are invited to send their suggestions to Emmeline. who will be charmed to consider their wishes, provided always that the subject is one of general interest to readers. Emmeline, in publishing the rules of the club again, advises members to cut them out and keep them for reference.

May 24. TOPIC. — A Shakespearian Meeting. —

Members are requested to name their favourite Shakespearian character — man or woman, — play in which they appear, and part they take in working out the plot. Quote, if possible, one or more of their finest speeches, or describe the situation -which you most admire.

June 28. J.OPIC. — A Travellers' Meeting. —

Emmeline desires to make up parties to travel in Tibet and in India. Though Tibet has been much written about since the British Expedition to Lhassa last year, travelling there is rough and difficult (i.e., there may be many members who are out of the track of new books and magazines). India, on the other hancl, is so vast an empire, and in many parts so familiar in its historical associations and geographical interests, that members who find themselves unable to travel in Tibet will, it is hoped, form a pleasant party for Indian travel. With the hearty co-operation of the club, Emmeline thinks this should be one of the most successful meetings of the session.

Other Topics during the Session will be: — — Suggestions Towards Greater Simplicity of Living. —

At this meeting members are invited to consider either in a really practical or an entirely humorous manner the possibility of simplifying oiir plan of daily life, so that the difficulty of proeiuing domestic servants may cease to affright us ; and the demands of society, the care of our furniture, and preparation of our food cease to occupy so large a proportion of our short lives.

— A Millionaires' Meeting. —

For this special occasion members will please realise that Emmeline has given to each of them a million of money ! The only repayment she desires is a true and cax^id account of "what they will do with it." For once we may all imagine ourselves able to solve what appears very often to be more difficult than poverty — namely, How to be happy, though rich? — Why is Marriage in the Twentieth Century

Considered a Failure ?—? —

What alterations in our mode of life can we make to render marriage and home more popular and attractive to both men and women?

— A Special Request Meeting. —

Of this, particulars will be given later on. At present Emmeline only desires to say that it will be quite unique, and from its novelty and interest form one of the most attractive meetings ever held by the famous C.C.C

Members will find it an excellent plan to cut out this indication of the club's topics for this session, though it is possible that some alteration may be made in those subjects whose date is not yet fixed.
