POMAHAKA SNMOG.

May 1. — For the last day or two we have had very good weather, but before that it was very changeable — one day fine, the next day raining. The Farm. — A lot of crop has been got in during the last few days, as the weather seems to have become more settled, and the mills are hard at work. A lot of stuff is baing kept for chaff this year. I fear a good deal of it would not pay to thresh, as some of the standing crops got terrubly bashed about by the wind. We .shall soon be thinking of putting up fencing for turnips and getting things all snug for the fast-approaching winter. As Greenfield has been all settled, any disappointed farmers will be welcomed here.

Wairuna School. — A meeting of Inraseliolders look place*n this school last Tuesday evening. Mr Clark, chairman for the previous 12 months, read and explained the balance sheet. There was a credit in the bank account of J69 13s -56?, and a hearty vote of thanks was proposed and seconded to the people of the district for supporting the school so well. After considerable discussion, the following householders were elected to form a committee for the ensuing 12 months : — Messrs Brown, Clark, R. M'lndoe, P. Murray, and Watt; and at the committee meeting immediately following Mr P. Murray wa& elected chairman, and Mr Watt secretary and treasurer. From the conversation it was gathered that the new committee is going to vie with the old one in improving the appearance of the grounds.
