Mr T. H. Davey, M.H.R, on Saturday received the following telegram from the Premier in regard to the egg-laying compe- • tition: — "The Government to-day decided to grant a £50 subsidy to the egg-laying competition, the club having already spent £150 or erection of pens and matters incidental to the competition. It is further understood that, Government money being paid, all information must be free to all, and that results as they occur must be for\Yardod to the Agricultural Department.— « R. J.
