DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE.

There still appears to he little inclination on the part of buyers or sellers to do business on 'Change, and it would appear as if the sittings of the Stock Exchange were merely for the purpose of establishing quotes, with an occasional transaction for the sake of variation Saturday morning's market was nonproductive of business, although a few more quotes were forthcoming than was the case on the previous day. Yalue3 generally were practically unchanged, and in not a few stocks quotes were inclined to be wide — at least too wide for business. The river height on Saturday inorning was sft lin above the normal mark at Alexandra — the same level as on the previous clay. Two or three of the dredgemaster3 working in the higher regions and in the gorge complain of trouble from -drift, which means that there will be a further delay in the starting of the few dredges which are at present idle.

Values in Alexandra Leads were unchanged on Saturday, while the only alteration in Bign ell's No Towns- was that holders were asking 15s 9d as agaimst 16s, the previous day's closing selling quote. Requests for Charlton Creeks at Gs and for Chicagos at 13s were not responded to, but an inquiry for Dunstan

Leads at Ss Gd had response at 9s 6d. Golden Runs drew buying notice at 24s 6d, and a iseller was in evidence at 27s 6d ; while Golden Tieasures were on offer at 7is 6d, but still without drawing inquiry. Muddy Creeks had much better notice at 27s 6d, but the market apparently contained no sellers. Mystery Flats were inquired for at the same figure, and a holder responded ai 30s. New Alpine Conso'i were easier, buyers offering 10s and holders asking 13s 6d. Buyers were again offering 6s for New Bendigoes, but sellers eased to the extent of 3d, being prepared to accept 7s. No Town Creeks had inquiry afc ISs 9d, but holders continued firm at 20s. Otagos were firmer, sellers asking 31s, a's against 30s the previous day, and buyers being again prepared to give 28s 6d. A request for Pactokis shares at 29<s again had no result, but an inquiry for New Perseverance shares at 21s foitnd response at 225. Buyers were offering 5s for Riley's Beaches, and holders were asking 6s 3d; while Rise and Shines were placed on the market at 27s 6d, but without eliciting any inquiry. April 26. — Otago, 30s. April 28.— Bignell's No Town, 15s 9d; Unioi Steam, £14 6s.

Mining. Roxburgh Amalgamated — Sellers 3s 7|d. Nokomai — Buyers £7. Roxburgh Amalgamate^ Sellers 3s 6d.
