INVERCARGILL D.L.F. LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB.
Dear Dot,— The ordinary weekly meeting of the Invercargill D.L.I' 1 . Literary and Debating Club was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Tay »trest, on "Wednesday evening, April 19. There were present of the committee tlie president (Willow Brook), in the chair; Zealia, and Ceres. It being open meeting, Iho following D.L.F. .contributed papers:— Boy, who took for his subject, "The Critics"; Darky, "Summer Visitors"; Itoby, "Flowers"; Corm&h, An kngli=hnian's Privilege"; Harry, M" 1 *; ilaidey M., "Charity"; and Ceres. Corporal Punishment." Needless to say, all the papers were greatly appreciated, and a, special vote of thanks was passed to Boy, Harry Eoby, I>arkv, and Cornish for their excellent contributions, and we hope that they will 30m us again at next open meeting with papers. It was decided not to hold a meeting of the club on Wednesday evening, 26th April ; but it was agreed that the members meet at the Oddfellows' Hall at 7.30 sharp, and march in a body to Ashley's Hall, to take part in the festivities in connection with the marriage of our comrade, Maisie Bee, to Mr William Currie.— Yours truly,
