The cricket match -Auckland v Taranaki was concluded to-day, when Auckland won by an innings and 156 runs. Auckland scored 267 for the 'oss of eight wickets, and declared. Mason (62) and Hay (33) batted well, and Kallendar played a lively innings for 32. Taranaki in their second attempt could only make 50, 10 less than in the first innings. Oliff bowled remarkably w-ell considering that he obtained no assistance from the wicket, which was, however, a little faster than on the previous day. He took seven wickets for 26 runs.
