OTAGO LAND BOARD.

The Land Board sat on the 19th, when there were piesent — the Commissioner of Crown. Lands (Mr Barron), Messrs W. Dallas, and J. Tough. Ranger O'JSTeill forwarded valuation of the fencing on section 40, block XVIII, Tuapeka East district. — To be opened for application on capital valuation of 12s 6d per acre, subject to approval of warden ; valuation for improvements, £15.

Hanger O'Neill reported on the application, by Maunsil Blackmore for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occiipation Act. 1894," over section 54a, block IV, Waipori district, and an area adjoining, in all about 16 acres. — Granted, subject to surrender of section 54 now held by applicant under occupation license, capital valuation of 15s per acre, and rent of 9d per acre.

A memo, from the Under-secretavy fof Lands intimated that surrender of lease in perpetuity 13415, neiJ by George Diack ovei section 16a, Barnego settlement, had been accepted. — Received, section to be reopened; valuation for improvements, £50.

The application of Wm. Davis to mortgage to John M'Bride section 34a, Windsor Park settlement, was c.-ered to be forwarded to the Minister for approval. D. Semple, lessee of section 26, block I, Maniototo district, wrote with reference tothe improvements required on the section. — Held over for two months.

William Garrick applied for a license to occupy blocks XXIX and XXX and unsold" sections in block XV, town of Molynoux. — Referred to ranger to report.

A Crooke wrote on behalf of William Smith, applying for the issue of a Crown grant for sections 30 and 31, Block 11, auapeka West district, held by him under cask certificate No. 62. — Hanger to report on improvements.

A Crooke, on behalf of the Waipori Consolidated Gold Dredges Company, wrote requesting that the license held by Michael Crowley over 20 acres in block IV, Waipori district, be not renewed at the expiry of the current term, as the land is part of a special claim. — License not to be renewed.

Ranger Mackenzie forwarded a report on sections 10, 11, and 12, block 111, Tarras district. Consideration of R. Poison's letter applying to be allowed to surrender hia leases over sections 11 and 12, and that the sections be opened at a reduced capital value. — If Poison decides to surrender sections 11 and 12, the board wiil be prepared to re-offer sections 10, 11, and 12, grouped, U a capital value of 10s per acre.

The Stock Inspector, Kurow, wrote stating that Thomas M'Cone desired to renew his application for a license to occupy the reserve fronting sections 9 and 10, block 111, Kurow district, and the reserve on the east side of the Otiak River from the railway bridge to the upper botindary of section 1, block XIII, Marewhenua distric l — License to be granted or renewed as froi> ust 14, 1901 ; rent to be 20s per annum. Vincent and Taieri County Coimcils forwarded statements of proposed expenditure of

" thirds " and " fourths " for period 3rd October to 31st December, 1904. — Approved. David Cameron applied for a grazing license over about m acres adjoining his occupation, lease, Galloway Flat. — As this land is held under pastoral lease a grazing license cannot issue over the run.

William Gordon applied to be allowed to acquire about 15 acres in the north corner of section 83, block I, Blackstone district. — Granted, subject to written consent being sent in by Mrs Parry.

Lee and Grave, on behalf of Mrs Ellen, M'Kay. applied for a license to occupy part of the foreshore in blocks IV and VI. Oamarti district, at one time lield under license by William Vincent. — G-ranted at rental ol 20s.

The following applications to transfer were approved : Small grazing run 39b, G. A. Sutherland to Robert M. The application to transfer lease in perpetuity 964, George Webb to Rebecca Webb, section 57, block 11, Dunedin and East Taieri district, was held ever for ranger's report.
