Ivaikouia is fcitua'ed about 96 miles << ulh oi Ble'ihe m the capital ol Marlboiough pio\mce, with which it is connected by -weekly coach. Of Kaikoura, it has been said, that it is "one of the most picturesque spots m New Zealand, lying, as it does under the Seaward Kaikoxuas, or Looker-on Mountains." At the back of the town the peninsula rises abruptly for 100 feet, leaving a large aiea of level ground, and this m years to come, as the town expuids, will afford sple ldid «ite= for building purposes. The vanety and quantity of =ea, fish to be obtained hi'c cannot be sui parser! by any place m the colony.
