CLEARING SALE AT MILBURN.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having held a clearing sale for Mr David Strain (Milburn) on Thursday, April 20. Mi Strain had lately sold his farm, and as the whole of the stock was for unreserved sale there w.as a large turnout of farmers from the surrounding districts. The sheep were a very nice, well-bred lot. and in splendid condition; but, owing to the fact that most of the farmer, had supplied their requirements for the season, the demand was somewhat disappointing, more especially for the breeding ewes. Crossbred lambs made better prices, while the horses, implements, and sundries sold at current rates'. Ninety-nine two-tooth -wethers made 18s 7<J, 124 crossbred lambs 15s 4d, 267 do 14s Gd to 13s 9d, 250 do 16s 7d, 319 crossbred ewes 20s 6d, 148 do 21s 2d. 190 aged ewes 14s 3d to 16s 4d, rams to 3Jgs, horses to £35 10s.
