A pul 17. — A very popular and interesting cciempny took place m the West Taieri Church on Thursday, 13th mst., when Mis? Mary Crossau, youngest daughter of Mrs Crossan, Berwick, was joined in wedlock to Mr Jas. Camclon, of Maungatua. A consicleipble amount of interest was taken in the wedding by the resident" of the distuct, attributable, no doubt, to the pupu!arit> of both the bridge and bridegioom. A laige number of friends assembled to witness the ceremony, at which the Eev. R. Pairniciid >\js the officiating cleigr;-man, anc Miss Chisholm, tho oigam^t, played the '•'\YedCting M-ueh." Tlie bride, who -was given awaj by Mr Juc. Mi'lar, ot Maungatua, looked very charming m a pple blue dress of soit material, handsomely tniamed with white si'k ehiiibn and applique trimmings, large white hai trimmed with white plumes and blue silk, and loiig white silk chifton stnngs, while sh« earned the orthodox bouquet, composed o) white f.o.vers and maidenhair tem=, &nd white %tieamer«. Ihe bridesmaid, Miss Nellie Millar, ccusin cl the bridegroom, woie a pa'e heliotrope oress trimmed with white, 1.->rge black velvet hat, and earned a bouquet" cf white heliotrope flowers atd autumn fo'iasce The bouquets were the gilt of Mr Moncnet, of Dunedin, who acted m the capacity cf sioomsnian. After the ceremony the bride and bi-degroom were driven to the Outram Hall, where a'larse number of friends and lelatives sat down to ?, sumptuous wedding breakfast. Toasts weie given by the Rev. Mr Fan-maid ai^d Messrs Monciieff, Kcmp^H, Kobmson. and Millar, and soiig= by Misses Millar and K.mpbhe'.l. and Me=srs Moncrieff, Mi'lar, pud Woods, all ot which were very heaitily apme^iated. Mr Cameio.i thanked all tho?2 piese^it foi their good wither, and a!«o thr- donors cf the inai'y hiincl-oiiic -aid useful piesenU, including cbo^ufes, which were received by the bride.
Altogether, a very pleasant afternoon was spent, •which was broken up by singing "Avid lang eyne," everyone joining in and singing very heartily. The bride and bridegroom left for Dunedin amidst showers of rice and roseleaves, and fervent wishes for a pleasant trip. The bride's travelling dress was a dark green costume -with hat to match. Mr and Mrs Cameron's future home will be Wyndham.
