CLEARING SALE AT SEAL POINT,

The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association of New Zealand (Limited 1 ), in conjunctdon with Alex. Harris and --Co., report: — We held aclearing sale of dairy cows, young cattle, and dairying plant on -account of Mr R. Lee, at his homestead, on tho 18th. We may say that this. was otle of the most successful sales that lias been held on the Otago Peninsula, for some time. There is no doubt that the name of the vendor (whose senior has been one of the soted breeders of Ayrshire cattle and a successful farmer in this southern district), combined ■with the well-known good management of Mr E. Lee, had a great tendency to bring together a large gathering of fanners and others interested in dairying. The weather being rjerfect, and a splendid luncheon prepared by Mrs lice having had attention, the auction was commenced with the cows, which were, taken all round, a really good lot, and those approaching immediate profit or just a few days calved were the admiration of a great number of capable judges, who competed in excellent style for every cow of the above description ; and in fact right through the cattle sale bidding was very spirited and satisfactory, as the undermentioned prices will show: — Cows, three or four days calved and cose to calving, fetched llrom £8 to JB11 ; spring ealvers, £6 to £7 ; Jieifers, spring ealvers, £5 to £6 10s; horses and implements at satisfactory prices.
