POVERTY BAY.
John Mouat, surveyor, writes to the Herald stating that the new lake at Waikaremoana, said to have been discovered 4>y Mr Ferney, was discovered by Mr Nurse, a member of his survey party, in November, 1897, and that the plan was deposited in the survey office at Gisborne in the following year.
