WELLINGTON, April 11. The results of the class firing in connection with the Public School Cadets of the eolonv, with tho exception of Taranaki and Wcstland, have been received by the Education Department. The following are the medal-winners for 1905 for the South Island: — North Canterbury, Private E. Becker (Southbrook), 72 (last year's winner) ; South Canterbury, Sergeant J Templer (Geraldine), 72 ; Grey, Private R M'Tag-gart (Taylorville), 69; Marlborough, Private W. Logan (Blenheim), 63 ; Nelson, Corporal I*. Watt (Denniston)_, 63; Otago, Sergeant A. Whyte (Oamaru), 80 "; Southland, Private Kingsland (Invercargill), 74-. The number of marksmen's badges won in the several districts were : — North Canterbury 6, South Canterbury 20, Otago 27, Southland 11, Grey 12, Marlborough 2* Nelson^.
