CIVIL SERVICE SUPERANNUATION FUND.
WELLINGTON, Apiil 10.
As the outcome cf recent meetings, members of the civil service in all parts of the colony are being circularised on the subject of a superannuation scheme for the whole service, for submission to the Premier. A circular, which was drafted by a sub-com-mittee, states that the time appears to be opportune for pressing th-e -nhole subject upon the attention of the Government. " The present position is not only complex and uneven in the highest degree, but no place is found for those officers (very considerable in number, and whom we desire to leach) who, though holding a status only as tempoiary officers, have nevertheless in many cases giveu a large part of their life to Government service." The circular aho expresses a hope that every member of the civil service will support and take an active interest in the proposal to make united representation to the Government of the needs and hopes of the service in this important matter.
