— The four-year-old gelding purchased by , Mr T. ELett at the recent Palmerston North. ) sales is named bLormont, and was got by Apremont out of the Cadogan mare Atholine, whose dam, Athol, was got by the English Derby winner Blair Athol out of Florence Macarthy, the dam of Tiralleur.

— Flower o' Clutha, who recently downed the Great Easter candidate Vladimir over 10 furlongs at Invercargill, tias proved a good stake-winner- in her class. She is a daughter of the C.J.C. Derby winner Trump Card (Traducer — Revoke), and her dam. Stockflower, is an Australian-bred mare, by Saunterer (Stockowner — Rose de Florence) out of the King Tom mare Stockrose, a daughter of the imported Stockwell mare Rosemary. —Mr T. Affleck recently refused an offer of 300gs from a prospective Melbourne buyer who was after the well-known trotting stallion Bellman, whose stock are winning favour amongst horsemen, particularly siuce Belle Car, the first of his stock to race, got on the winning list. The Judge Beldon horse is a handsome animal, and has a mark of 4.55. He has been in big demand among southern breeders since he has been at their service.
