A question having arisen as to who built the light traffic bridge at Alexandra, a correspondent informs the Dunstan Times Jhat in 1877 the County Council voted a Sum of ruoney to build a footbridge, but Jhe amount was deemed insufficient. Mr James Samson (now of Dunedin), the then Mayor of Alexandra, undertook to collect py subscription enough money to suppleJnaent the council's vote for the footbridge, and so obtain the present light traffic pridge.
