Rabbitskins. — Consignments coming to hand lately are small, mostly inferior to medium sorts. All offered, however, meet with a very fajr demand at late quotations.

Hides. — No sa'es by auction this week, but there is no change to note in the market.

Tallow and Fat. — The sales effected are confined to broken packages from the country for local consumption, and for which there " is a very good demand. Gram. — Wheat : ihere is a considerable quantity of prime ini'lmg boing now put on the market, but the local millers are in the meantime fairly well supplied, and are not disposed to further increase stocks except at 2d to 3d below late rates, making it very dimcult to effect sales of any consequence. vance of those of last week. Ryegrass Seed. — There is no further improvement to note in either the demand or price, there being sufficient on hand in the meantime to satisfy requirements, and to effect sales, especially of light seed, lower prices would have to be accepted. Potatoes. — A good demand exists for good Christchurch sorts, free from disease, and such are readily placed, but most of those coming forward are unfit for table, and consequently, difficult to place at any price. Most of the white sorts offering are comparatively frea from disease, and best sell at £5 10s to £6;; medium, £4 13s to £5 ss; best Derwents, £4 10s to £5; mednun to good, £3 to £4 per ton (ex store, sacks weighed in). Chaff. — Consignments of prime old an<3 bright, coming forward are readily placed at late rates, while inferior and discoloured is not wanted. A few trucks of new chaff have been on the market, but buyers prefer old until they are satisfied there is no chance of its becoming heated. Quotations : For best old, £3 7s 6d to £3 10s ; extra prime, £3 12s 6d ; medium do and new, £3 to £3 ss ; inferior to medium, £2 5s to £2 15s per ton (ex truck, sacks extra).
