CLEARING SALE AT GLENORCHY.
Messrs Wright, Stephsnson, and Co. report having held a very successful sale at Mr C. E. E. Waller's homestead on Wednesday last. The day was fine, and there was a large gathering of* buyers from all parts of the Wakatipu district and from Southland. The arrangements made by Mr Waller were very complete, drags meeting' the buyers on the arrival of the steamer and conveying them to the sale. Record prices were obtained for the sheep, and extreme prices also for implements, furniture, and, in fact, for everything offered.. The sheep offered were all merinos, and the following prices obtained will give the best indication of the successful nature of the sale . — 1122 four, six, and eight-tooth merino ewes, 16s 7d ; 822 four, six, and eight-tooth merino wethers, 13s ; 366 two-tooth menno ewes, 16s lOd ; 307 two-tooth merino wethers, 14s ; 149 1 merino ewes [in wool), 19s; 101 merino wethers (in wool), 203 ; 550 lambs, 10s 4d. The auctioneers are indebted to the shipping authorities for making the steamer arrangements suit the convenience of buyers and others attending the sale.
