AXEMEN'S ASSOCIATIONS AT LOGGERHEADS. ELTHAM, March 23.
Friction having arisen between the New Zealand Axemen's Association and Southland Axemen's Carnival Committee, the following resolution was passed at last night's meeting of the New Zealand Association: — "That the Invercargill Easter carnival be declared an unregistered meeting, and that the Australian representative team of axemen and sawyers now touring the colony under the auspices 1 of the New Zealand Association be withdrawn from the Invercargill caTjival, and that ho axemen registered with the New Zealand Axamen's Association be allowed to compete."
AXEMEN'S ASSOCIATIONS. INVERCARGILL, March 25. At a meeting of the Southland Athletic Association a resolution was passed that this association considers that the New Zealand Axemen'i Association is not a recognised body, and that 110 axemen registered with the Southland Association be allowed to take part in its competitions. It was alao decided to ask the Taranaki Caledonian Association to co-operate.
