E. and J. Jopson wrote objecting to F. H. Graham between section I 31 and sections 33 and 34, block IV, Mount Hyde district. — Report adopted; Mr M'Donald to he required to pay the valuation of £42 15s. National Mortgage and Agency Company, on behalf of Murdoch Graham, wrote accepting a year's license over sections 8, 10, and 11° block V, Mount Hyde district.— Area of : Grahams present license reduced to 840 acres ! and rent to £4 4s. ! An application for rural land on lease in i.erpetuity was received from Farquhar M'Rae, section 9, block VII, Strath-Taieri district (Brodrick and Chalmer, agents). — The former decision in this case was rescinded end land granted to applicant.

The Bruce County Council forwarded a statement of proposed expenditure of " thirds ' and " fourths " for period October 3to December 31, 1904. — Approved.

George Diack renewed his application to be allowed to surrender his lea&e in perpetuity over section 16a, Baraego Settlement. — To ba forwarded to Minister for acceptance of surlender.

The board was requested to authorise the receiver of land revenue to deal with the sum of £14 4s, paid as valuation for improvements on sections 12 to 16, block V, Lower Wanaka district. — To be paid to revenue on account of arrears of rent.

Stronach, Morris, and Co., on behalf of John Kingan, applied for a license to occupy section 11, block V, Lower Wanaka district, for grazirig purposes. — Yearly license granted at a rental of ss.

Quin and Rodger (on behalf of Thomas Hagen, lessee of section 31, block VIII, Glenkenich district) applied for exemption from residence- on the section. — Exemption from residence was granted during the pleasure of the board.

I The Under-secretary for Lands telegraphed I intimating that the warden reported that sections 7 and 8, block X, Mount Hyde district, ; -would probably be required for mining pur- , poses. — Received.

John Sloan wrote objecting to the application by Thomas Nevill for a license to occupy the forest reserve between sections 13, 14, 16, and 17. block 111. Poolburn district. Brodrick and Chnlmer, on behalf of James Wilson, also •wrote objecting to the same application, and applying for a license over the land referred to — Held over for report from ranger.

John Kinney applied to be allowed to acquire section 47, block VII, and section 5, block XI, Rock and Pillar district, without competition. Cutten and Hjorring, on behalf of T. R. Connolly, made a similar application. Ranger Atkinson forwarded a valuation of the improvements on the said section. — Kinney's application was declined, and it was decided to inform Messrs Cutten and Hjorring that the board could not see ts way to leopen Ihe case.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile 1 Agency Company (on behalf of William A. j Wallace^ applied to transfer his flax-cutting ', license over section 4, block XIV, Pomahaka j Downs Estate, to Walter Alexander Allen, and requested the extension of license up to Sep- ! ternber 1 next. — The transfer was approved and I extension granted as applied for.

The board was requested to authorise the receiver of land revenue to deal with the sum of £4 10s, paid as valuation for improvements on section 9, block X, Woodland district. — Receiver to pay to revenue 30s (cost of re-entry) and £3 to E. Anderton.

The next meeting of the board is to be held on Tuesday, 28th inst.
