GREEN ISLAND.

- The monthly meeting of the Green Island School Committee was held on Thursday, and •_ fras attended by Messrs Kane (in the chair), feenfell, Berry, Dempster, Hill, Graham, and Lindsay. ' The Head Master's report showed that the attendance for the month was— Boys, 142.; girls, 152:— total, 294; the average roll for the same time being— Boys, 152; girls, 166; — total, 318. Thirty-five new scholars were registered, and, as 26 had left, the school was in a slightly better position to begin the year ■with. The new flag pole has been erected, and has a fine appearance, on the northern torner of the terrace. A few necessaries renuired in connection with the working of the new syllabus were ordered to be procured, and * small job at the residence was also oraerea to be attended to.
