GORE NEWS NOTES.
(jl'rom uue uwsr Correspondent.) GORE, March 13. A fire near Mataura on Saturday destroyed Mr Paterson's flaxmill. The scutcher, presses, two tons of fibre, and a quantity of belling, tools, etc., were all destroyed. The engine and boiler escaped without injury. The total damage is estimated at £200. Word wa<s received this afternoon of the death at Ha-tings 10-day of Mr George Trew, «en , who arrhed m Invcreargill in 1860, and resided there until about thre« years ago, when he removed to the north.
