GAMES.

The two following games were plaj'ed in the middle of January between Messrs A. Jordan and D. G. M'Kelvia, in their match for the London Championship Challenge Cup. The notes are by a London correspondent in the Leeds Mercury Supplement: — Game 5914.—"Edinburgh" (9 13, 24 19). Black—M'Kelvie". White—Jordan.

(a.) "Very weak. (b) 3 7, followed by 4 S, rmg.ht draw. Game 5915.—"Edinburgh" (9 13, 21 19). Black—Jordan. White—M'Kelvie.

(a) 7 11 is much stronger. (c) 811 draws easily. I doubt if Black can draw after the move in the text. (c) Pretty play; forcing the pace.
